HAM Network Aims and Objectives
Our aim is to form a network of UK and Japan university groups who share an interest in the study and application of intelligent mechatronics, robotics, and control in general, and Human Adaptive Mechatronics (HAM) in particular. Our key objectives include:
1. Cooperation with Japanese researchers on HAM and its use in manufacturing, healthcare, etc.
2. To develop EPSRC and other grant proposals that cross the disciplinary boundaries.
3. To share and disseminate new concepts, theories, methodologies, technologies and tools within the member organisations.
4. To increase the capability of the participating organisations and wider research communities (both academic and industrial) in awareness and understanding of HAM.
5. To help participating universities establish joint research programmes with academic and industrial partners and achieve and consolidate research excellence in the proposed areas.
6. To facilitate the creation of a new generation of interdisciplinary researchers.
7. To create a list of agreed, important future questions requiring real, multi-disciplinary innovation in theoretical analysis and implementation of HAM systems as practical, everyday items.
