HAM
meetings and workshops
Workshop on Human Adaptive Mechatronics, 13-14 May 2010, at Loughborough University
The HAM workshop was a huge success and brought researchers in this emerging field from around the world together to present new results and learn about the latest developments in the field of AI, Automation, Computing, Human Science, Intelligent Control and Advanced Mechatronics.
The presentations were all of a very high standard and generated many interesting discussions. We were delighted to hear excellent keynote speeches from Professor Hiroshi Inaba of Tokyo Denki University, who spoke on 'Human Adaptive Mechatronics', and Professor Akira Inoue and Professor Mingcong Deng of Okayama University, who presented on 'Nonlinear Control of Under-actuated Mechanical Systems'. We also welcomed Dr Stephen Kemp, Portfolio Manager for Control, Systems Engineering and Robotics at the EPSRC, who gave a presentation on 'EPSRC Support for Robotics Researchers'.
The Proceedings of the workshop will be published by Springer; further details on the publication date will appear here.
